How to Delete Your Data

BrewOS respects your right to control your personal data. You can request deletion of your data at any time using one of the methods below.

Option 1: Delete via the App

The easiest way to delete your data is directly through the BrewOS app:

  1. Open the BrewOS web app at cloud.brewos.io
  2. Sign in to your account
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Select Account
  5. Click Delete Account
  6. Confirm the deletion

This will immediately delete your account and all associated data.

Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access your account or prefer to contact us directly, send an email to privacy@brewos.io with:

  • Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • The email address associated with your BrewOS account
  • A brief description of your request

We will process your request within 30 days and send confirmation once complete.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account profile (email, name, profile picture)
  • All device associations and configurations
  • Session data and authentication tokens
  • Push notification subscriptions
  • Any brewing history and preferences stored in the cloud

Data That May Be Retained

Some data may be retained for legitimate purposes:

  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics data
  • Data required for legal compliance or fraud prevention
  • Server logs (automatically deleted after 90 days)

Local Device Data

Data stored locally on your BrewOS device (ESP32) is not affected by cloud account deletion. To delete local device data:

  1. Connect to your device's local interface
  2. Go to Settings → Factory Reset
  3. Confirm to erase all local data and settings

Facebook Login Users

If you signed up using Facebook Login, you can also manage your data through Facebook's settings:

  1. Go to your Facebook App Settings
  2. Find BrewOS in the list of apps
  3. Click to view or remove the app

Note: Removing the app from Facebook does not automatically delete your BrewOS account. Please also follow the deletion steps above to fully remove your data.
